1900 silver award medal LONDON SOCIETY OF SCIENCE LETTERS & ART – Blue Tones!
This 38mm Victorian silver medal weighs 25g exactly and was struck for the London Society of Science. Letters. And Art. And was awarded in July 1900 to student member Annie H. Coulson for her achievements in Practical Music.
The Society of Science, Letters and Art, also known as the Society of Science or SSLA, was a soi-disant learned society which flourished between 1882 and 1902. Dr Edward Albert Sturman, M.A., F.R.S.L., owned and ran the Society for his own financial benefit from his house at Holland Road in Kensington, London

Reverse: Surrounding laurel wreath, in centre in 3 lines the first curved – ANNIE H. COULSON / PRAC. MUSIC / JULY 1900

Condition: As struck high collector’s grade with pleasing mix of bright mirrored silver lustre and lovely petrol blue toning, light surface scratches in the fields.
